The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Competitiveness Bureau, in partnership with the Export Marketing Bureau and Board of Investments, will hold the 1st Logistics Services Philippines Conference and Exhibition from Dec 6-7 at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The event, themed “ Trabaho at Negosyo: Creating Opportunities in the Logistics Services Sector”, gathers stakeholders from the logistics services sector, government, and development partners in a discussion of issues that hinder the development of the logistics services providers (LSPs). Government agencies are in turn expected to present policies and programs that will address issues raised during the conference.
“Realizing the potential of LSPs as one of the core enablers of development and major driver of job generation, we organized the first-ever Logistics Services Philippines Conference to serve as platform for discussion among key stakeholders: the logistics services providers, the MSMEs, and the government. Developing a globally-competitive logistics services sector is important in supporting the industries and strengthening our supply chain,” said Trade Undersecretary Rowel Barba.
The four areas of discussion in the conference are: a) review of Philippine performance in the World Bank Logistics Performance Index; b) regulatory reforms to promote ease of doing business in the logistics services sector; c) investment opportunities and industry prospects that bring growth and create jobs in logistics services; d) investment in human capital.

A business matching event will follow the conference with more than 48 LSPs offering freight transport, storage and warehousing, customs brokerage, and other cargo-handling services. The business matching aims to promote products and services of LSPs and link them with MSMEs and exporters looking for reliable and affordable logistics services for their business.

The two-day conference and exhibit is part of the National Export Week Celebration, to be held alongside with National Export Congress at PICC, and organized by Center for International Trade Exposition and Mission.
