Cargo traffic at Changi Airport Singapore continues to be sluggish.
The airport registered 152,900 tonnes of cargo in May, down 2.8 percent year-on-year, the company said in a media statement.
Figures for May were higher than those for April, which saw a total cargo throughput of 148,200 tonnes, a decrease of 4.9 percent compared to the same month in 2011.
For the first five months of this year, airfreight tonnage at Changi, one of the world’s busiest cargo hubs in terms of volume, decreased 1.3 percent to 745,000 tonnes against the same period last year.
Changi serves 100 airlines worldwide and operates more than 6,200 weekly flights out of Singapore.
