Nippon Express Philippines, Inc emerged as the Philippines’ top airfreight forwarder for the first quarter, cornering 18.92% of the total market with shipments of 13.528 million kilograms (kg).

No comparative figures were given by the Civil Aeronautics Board.

Nippon Express is a consistent leader in the Philippine airfreight market. It was also the top player for 2011.

Clipper Cargo Corp came in second, eating up 10.45% of the market when it handled 7.470 million kg.

In third spot was DHL Global Forwarding (Philippines), Inc. It shipped 5.190 million kg for a share of 7.26%.

Representing 5.27% of the aggregate was Aspac International Airfreight Inc, in fourth place with 3.763 million kg.

Yusen Logistics Philippines, Inc was fifth with a share of 3.86% or 2.759 million kg.

In sixth and seventh spots were UPS-Delbros Transport, Inc and Kintetsu World Express Philippines, Inc, with respective shares of 3.67% (2.621 million kg) and 3.61% (2.578 million kg).

Schenker Philippines, Inc was in eighth place when it flew 1.922 million kg for a share of 2.69%; Kuehne+Nagel, Inc in ninth (2.36% share; 1.688 million kg); and Expeditors Philippines, Inc in tenth spot (1.93%; 1.381 million kg).

Others in the top 30 list for the first quarter were Royal Cargo Combined Logistics (1.68%); Agility International Logistics (1.68%); Airspeed International Corp (1.57%); UPS SCS (Phils) Inc (1.51%); Airfreight 2100, Inc (1.39%); Nissin Transport Philippines, Inc (1.21%); DHL Worldwide Express (Phils) Inc (1.04%); DSV Air and Sea Inc (0.95%); Panalpina World Transport (Phils) Inc (0.92%); World Alliance Freight (0.80%); Airlift Asia, Inc., (0.77%); Skyfreight Forwarders, Inc (0.71%); K Line Air Service Philippines, Inc (0.69%); Kerry ATS Logistics Inc (0.60%); Manila International Freight Forwarders (0.58%); Express Airfreight Movers Company Inc (0.58%); Expertrans Philippines, Inc (0.58%); U-Freight Philippines, Inc (0.57%); USG Logistics Philippines (0.55%); and CEVA Logistics Philippines, Inc (0.52%).
