Europe-based Chapman Freeborn Airchartering further shored up its Asia network by acquiring Euro Express, an on-board courier (OBC) based in Hong Kong that provides hand-carry services worldwide.

Operating as Chapman Freeborn OBC in Hong Kong, the new venture will serve as an interconnecting hub between America, Europe, China, and other parts of Asia—particularly for shipping electronics and high-tech communications equipment as well as other time-sensitive products, such as those for the automotive sector.

Nikolai Bergmann, Euro Express’s managing director, will head the new company, overseeing the management and expansion of the team in Hong Kong.

“While Chapman Freeborn already has charter teams based in Beijing and Shanghai, the merger with Euro Express and establishment of a Hong Kong office will allow us to further develop our specialist hand-carry services in Asia,” said Carsten Volk, Chapman Freeborn OBC’s global product manager.

Chapman Freeborn OBC was launched in 2006 and is part of the Chapman Freeborn group. Headquartered in Cologne, the aircraft charter broker specializes in delivering time-critical parts and important documents around the world.
