The four-member alliance CKYH announced it will cancel some of its voyages on the Asia-North Europe and Mediterranean trade lanes in early 2013 to adjust to the weaker demand in the winter season.
In a press statement released December 12, 2012, CKYH member Hanjin Shipping said the alliance will scrap a total of seven voyages on the Asia-North Europe and Mediterranean service loops from mid-January through end-February 2013.
The cancellation was being made “in order to cope with the seasonal market demand,” the statement said, but added that the group would continue to provide weekly service covering major ports connecting the Far East to North Europe and the Mediterranean.
The three other members of the alliance are Cosco Container Lines, “K” Line, and Yang Ming.
