Philippine export earnings grew 5.5% to $3.551 billion in November from $3.366 billion in the same month of 2011, according to latest data from the National Statistics Office.

Month-on-month, exports are down 20% from October’s $4.408 billion.

From January to November, receipts rose 7% to $48.026 billion from $44.898 billion during the same period in 2011.

Electronic products accounted for 48.8% of total exports with receipts of $1.734 billion, up 13.3% from $1.523 billion in November 2011.

Woodcrafts and furniture ranked second with revenues of $271.32 million, and metal components third with $129.05 million.

Japan was the top destination for Philippine exports, representing 20.8% of the total or $740.21 million. This was higher by 2.5% compared with $722.30 million of the previous year.

The US ranked second with a 12.9% share or $458.37 million. Hong Kong, accounting for 10.5% share to total exports, came in third with $373.81 million.
