Maersk Line’s chief commercial officer, Lucas Vos, has turned in his resignation, to take effect on May 1.
“Lucas Vos has been part of the top management team in Maersk Line for the past five years. He has been an integral part of turning the company around with the ambitious streamLINE programme and lately contributed to the plan of making Maersk Line the most profitable player in the industry,” said Maersk Line CEO Soren Skou in an official statement.
The company, the world’s biggest container shipping operator, said that they have not yet decided on who will succeed Vos, but that the search has started.
“Lucas Vos returns to The Netherlands—as it has been the plan all along—where he will take some time off to consider his next step,” the statement said.
Vos, 45, has been with Maersk Line, the container shipping arm of Danish oil and shipping group A.P. Moller-Maersk, since 2006, starting out as the area manager for Spain. In 2008 he was appointed chief process officer, and in 2012, he was promoted to CCO. Before this, he was with P&O Nedlloyd for 13 years in various management roles.
