MSC_Asli,_Port_of_AntwerpMediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) is fortifying its Asia-U.S. East Coast (USEC) operations with the launch of a new loop and the revision of an existing service so it makes a call in New York.

MSC said the new service, to be called the Lone Star Express, will operate on the trans-Pacific trade and become a new gateway between Asia and the U.S. Gulf “in anticipation of increased demand.”

At the same time, the current Everglades service will be renamed Amberjack and restructured to include a call to New York.

All this brings to four the weekly services provided by the carrier between Asia and the East Coast of the United States.

Changes will be in effect from the first week of May 2016, said MSC.

The Lone Star Express and Amberjack will continue to be supported by the America and Empire services currently in operation.

The Lone Star Express will have its first sailing on May 2, 2016, and follow a port rotation of Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Busan, Cristobal, Houston, Mobile, Miami, Balboa, and Busan.

The Amberjack will begin sailing on May 6, with regular calls to Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Busan, Savannah, New York, Charleston, Jacksonville, and Freeport.

The existing America service has a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Chiwan, Yantian, Vung Tao, Singapore, New York, Savannah, Charleston, Miami, Freeport, New York, Singapore, and Kaoshiung.

The other ongoing service, Empire, has a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaoshiung, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, New York, Norfolk, Baltimore, Colombo, Tanjung Pelepas, Qingdao, Shanghai, and Busan.
