MMDAMetropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Emerson Carlos has been re-assigned as officer-in-charge of the agency until a new chairman is appointed.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in an order dated July 8 informed Carlos, who stepped down from his post on June 30, that he has been appointed as OIC of MMDA.

“In the exigency of service, please be informed that you are hereby designated as officer-in-charge, Metro(politan) Manila Development Authority. You are hereby ordered to continue to perform the functions of the office and ensure the continuous delivery of public service until a chairman is appointed,” Medialdea stated.

Carlos was already on vacation when informed of his recall. Carlos, formerly assistant general manager for operations, was appointed as OIC of MMDA in October last year after then chairman Francis Tolentino resigned to unsuccessfully run for a Senate seat.

In the same month, Carlos was assigned as chairman of the agency until June 30, 2016. When he left last month, Carlos in a special order assigned Amante Salvador, head of MMDA’s Health, Public Safety, and Environmental Protection Office, as OIC.
