busy-subic-port-2Shipping line APL is ending its Manila Express (MNX) feeder service with final port calls to Manila and Subic in December.

In an advisory, APL said it is terminating MNX “in order to better cater to market demands.”

The line will continue to service Subic and Manila separately, but no longer directly linking the two ports.

For the service’s last voyage, the APL Oakland v-113 will arrive at Subic port on December 1, Manila North Harbor on December 2, and Manila South Harbor on December 3, before calling in Kaohsiung on December 5.

Subic port will be inserted into APL’s China-Southeast Asia Service 3 (CS3), with vessel AS RAGNA v-019 making her first call on December 4, 2016.

CS3’s new port rotation will be Hong Kong–Chiwan–Kaohsiung–Subic Bay–Cebu–Cagayan de Oro–Subic Bay–Kaohsiung–Hong Kong.

APL said CS3 links Taiwan and South China to Subic Bay, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao Container Terminal), and connects to APL’s global network via Chiwan, Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung. It also has competitive transit times between North Asia and Subic Bay, Cebu, and Cagayan.

APL still calls Manila ports through its Japan-Taiwan 6 and North South Express 2 services.
