scmapThe Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines (SCMAP) will be led by a newly elected national board of directors going into 2017.

Nestor Felicio of United Laboratories heads the group as the new president, while Christine Pardiñas of Rustan Supercenters is the vice president.

LF Logistics’ Dina Pilapil has been elected secretary, while Manny Onrejas of Fast Logistics and Clarissa Castillo of Johnson & Johnson are treasurer and auditor, respectively.

Directors are Tina Alvarez (Procter & Gamble), Mark Philip Comandante (Zuellig Pharma), Carlo Curay (XVC Logistics), German Martizano (Unilever), and Anghelita Santor (Nestlé).

The SCMAP president will serve for two years; the other board members one year. The new board will be inducted next year.

SCMAP, formerly the Distribution Management Association of the Philippines, aims to lead the supply chain management profession in the Philippines by developing, advancing, and disseminating supply chain knowledge and research in the country.

It also seeks to advocate government policies, rules, and legislation and spearhead private sector activities designed to improve local supply chain management processes.

The organization, with chapters in North Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, is also involved in projects and partnerships that support its three pillars—advocate, communicate, and educate.

SCMAP is a partner in the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Public Works and Highways’ ROLL IT Convergence Program, an initiative that promotes construction and improvement of infrastructure near industries and trade centers.

Additionally, the group forged this year a partnership with GoNegosyo, in which SCMAP will provide supply chain education to micro-, small- and medium-scale entrepreneurs across the country through its Kapatid program.

It has also partnered with the University of the Philippines, offering certificate courses on supply chain management through the National Center for Engineering. Its collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority on a national certification program for warehousing and logistics positions is likewise in full swing.
