Swiss ocean carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has introduced a new service setup with new partner CMA CGM that will cover Asia and North Europe.
MSC said under the new arrangement, it will revise its existing Silk and Lion services and launch three services to be jointly operated with the French boxline.
The changes are scheduled to take effect by the beginning of March 2012, MSC said in a December 5, 2011 statement.
The revised port rotations of MSC’s existing Silk and Lion services are as follows:
Silk Service: The service uses 11 vessels of 14,000 TEUs in capacity. Its port rotation is Dalian, Xingang, Kwang Yang, Pusan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Singapore, Port Kelang, Felixstowe, Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Southampton, Valencia, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dalian.
Lion Service: The service will also have 11 vessels of similar capacities. Its port rotation is Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Chiwan, Yantian, Sines, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Gioia Tauro, Singapore, Chiwan, Xiamen, Ningbo.
MSC also disclosed its three new strings to be operated jointly with CMA CGM:
Swan Service: This has 11 vessels of 11,400 TEUs in capacity. The service rotates at the ports of Xingang, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Xiamen, Singapore, Port Kelang, Tangiers, Le Havre, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Beirut, Jeddah, Port Kelang, Singapore, Xingang.
Condor Service: Also using 11 vessels of 11,400 TEUs in capacity, it will have a port rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Nansha, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Yantian, Vung Tau, Southampton, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Korfakkan, Port Kelang, Singapore, Yantian, Ningbo.
Jade Service: The third MSC-CMA CGM joint service will have nine vessels of capacities in the range of 9,500 TEUs. It will make calls at Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Yantian, Singapore, Port Kelang, Gioia Tauro, Malta, Tangiers, Port Kelang, Singapore, Vung Tau, Shanghai.
