Philippine Airlines (PAL) has opened three new routes from Davao—a boost to the flag carrier’s domestic route expansion program, this time from Mindanao.
On November 1, PAL launched the Davao-Tagbilaran and Davao-Cagayan de Oro services, marking the redevelopment of Davao as another hub for PAL operations.
PAL now flies to Tagbilaran four times a week, leaving Davao every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, as well as to Cagayan de Oro daily.
On November 2, PAL opened a new route to Zamboanga, departing Davao every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Utilized on the three new routes is PAL’s next-generation, 86-seater Bombardier Q400, the world’s first turboprop with premium economy seats and featuring the most quiet cabin comparable to the jet aircraft.
The airline said more new inter-island routes will be introduced in December to enable holiday travelers to access convenient direct flights to their destinations without passing through Manila.
