The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has approved a 10% increase in cargo-handling charges at the Port of Dapa in Surigao Del Norte.

PPA general manager Atty. Jay Daniel Santiago signed Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 18-2018 dated September 11, which implements the upward adjustment pursuant to PPA Board Resolution No. 2734.

The increase will take effect on October 15, or 30 days after MC 18-2018 was published on September 15 in a newspaper of general circulation.

Port of Dapa, which is under the Terminal Management Office of Siargao, handles domestic cargoes. In the first semester of 2018, the port processed 116,234 metric tons of cargo, 112% higher than the 54,842 metric tons handled in the same period in 2017.
