Logistics company Airspeed has pledged support for ARISE Philippines, a network of private companies that are united under the common objective of establishing innovative resilience practices within organizations.

Airspeed, in a statement, said it joined the network believing in ARISE’s vision to help the Philippines in disaster risk reduction management.

Airspeed joins other sectors, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the SM Group in supporting disaster preparedness and risk resiliency. Under ARISE Philippines, private companies are enabled to build their own capacity and develop strategies to make their organizations resilient to disaster risks through continuous learning provided by experts and engaging in workshops on best practices.

“At Airspeed, we’re very big on corporate social responsibility, and we should do our part in raising awareness regarding disaster risks and how to stay resilient,” Airspeed chairman and chief executive officer Rosemarie P. Rafael said.

“As businesses, we need to learn how to protect ourselves and help protect others,” she added.

During ARISE’s general meeting, participants not only learned how to apply preventive measures against disasters, but also how to develop action plans to assure progress in establishing disaster-resilient societies. Being encouraged to promote disaster preparedness and risk resiliency is one step closer to building a better nation, the company stressed.

Airspeed is a corporate logistics company focused on freight forwarding solutions, customs releasing, customized logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
