Logistics solutions provider Victory Group of Companies has opened its first owned mega distribution hub in Bulacan to serve northern Metro Manila and the Northern Luzon region.

The North Distribution Center in Barangay Iba, Meycauayan, Bulacan, has a land area of 33 hectares and houses a 5-hectare warehouse facility and a 3.5-hectare container yard, Victory Group president and chief executive officer Enrique Castillo told PortCalls in an interview on the sidelines of the mega hub’s blessing on July 5.

The mega hub will be operated by RytMatch Supply Chain, Inc., the group’s contract logistics segment which offers warehousing, inventory management, cross-docking, order fulfilment, bundling, cold storage, and warehouse management system.

Castillo said that what sets the 5-hectare facility apart from typical warehouses is its 60 loading bays that can allow multiple customers to load their trucks at the same time, especially during peak hours.

Since the facility is modular, it can handle multiple clients, especially small and medium enterprises, and offer them scale to save on costs, said Castillo. Earlier, he said the group will come up with spaces for both exclusive and multiple clients. He explained that gone are the days when it was unacceptable to put two competing companies’ products in the same warehouse, noting that competition now takes place in the store and not in the logistics center.

The new facility is expected to achieve full capacity in two months’ time, but Castillo said the facility can still be expanded. Moreover, Victory Group is building another warehouse facility within the mega hub, which is planned to have two to three warehouses for cold storage.

Castillo said the mega hub will serve Northern Luzon, as well as the northern areas of Metro Manila, noting that “north makes sense” as connectivity with Manila port has been improving with new roads and expressways being built.

Aside from warehousing, Victory Group also offers synchronized end-to-end solutions through its other operating units SeaCure Freight, Inc. and Victory Star Shipping Lines, Inc., which together with Rytmatch Logistics, Inc. all complement each other’s operations. – Text and photo by Roumina Pablo
