Hactl – the largest cargo handler at the world’s number one cargo hub – is sponsoring the first-ever Cargo Facts Asia, taking place at the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong on April 17 and 18 this year.

Cargo Facts Asia will bring together members of the world’s aviation community for networking and strategy discussions centring around the Asian market. The event will combine topical panels and presentations, as well as in-depth research presented by executives of the organisers, Seattle-based Air Cargo Management Group (ACMG).

Cargo Facts Asia is the latest offering from ACMG, which has produced the annual Cargo Facts Aircraft Symposium since 1994. The Symposium is highly-regarded and well-attended by senior executives of airlines, planemakers and converters.

The Cargo Facts Asia program will cover topics including economic drivers for airfreight, analysis of the global air freight market and how it is changing, a look at the latest widebody and narrowbody freighters and conversions, and examination of future prospects for the Asia Pacific cargo market. ACMG’s Managing Director Robert Dahl will also present the company’s latest 20 year Freighter Forecast: the industry’s only truly non-partisan assessment of supply and demand for freighters.

In its own role as sponsor, Hactl will bring the two-day program to a climax with a tour of its giant SuperTerminal 1 base – the largest single cargo handling facility in the world, processing over 2.7 million tons of cargo annually and accounting for 80% of the commercial handling market in Hong Kong.

Says Hactl MD Mark Whitehead: “We are delighted to throw our weight behind this important event, which should help to bring clarity to the world’s largest and most dynamic air cargo market. We welcome ACMG and their delegates to our home, and hope they will find the symposium and the tour of our facility educational and thought-provoking.”

Adds JJ Hornblass, CEO, Air Cargo Management Group: “Air Cargo Management Group and Cargo Facts are extremely excited about the launch of Cargo Facts Asia and the partnership we have formed with Hactl. The tour of the Hactl facility is an excellent opportunity for delegates to enhance their education by viewing one of the world’s premier air cargo terminals at work. We look forward to a successful event that provides attendees with a memorable experience.”
