THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) will roll out the Import Assessment System (IAS) and electronic export lodgment at Batangas Port this week.

“We are going live with the lodgment of import and export entries initially at the Port of Batangas tentatively this week,” Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales said in an interview.

“By the first week of October, we will also be rolling out the automatic debit system in the payment of Customs duties and taxes with several banks. To date, we are 95.5% complete (with the process),” Morales explained.

“The introduction of such systems is also in preparation for our full migration to AsycudaWorld,” Morales added.

BOC-accredited VASPs InterCommerce Network Services and Cargo Data Exchange Center expressed readiness to implement the IAS and the export system.

In a statement, InterCommerce said it has completed the QA tests and has been accredited/authorized by BOC to facilitate the electronic lodgement of export declaration at the Port of Manila and the Manila International Container Port beginning October 15. All exporters registered with InterCommerce will be using the WebCWS for online preparation and lodgement of export declaration.
