THE Federation of Forwarders Associations in the Philippines is hosting the 13th ASEAN Federation of Forwarders Associations (AFFA) conference on December 4-6 at the Bellevue Hotel in Muntinlupa City.

The conference, with the theme “Enhancing Cooperation within the AFFA Network to Achieve Global Competi-tiveness,” is being held at a time of increased demand for air and sea freight making the need for increased cooperation among associations even more vital, according to FEDFAP and AFFA president Angelito M. Colona.

Delegates from forwarding associations in the ASEAN region will participate in the event.

Keynote speakers are Customs Commissioner Atty. Antonio Bernardo, Philippine Economic Zone Authority director general Lilia de Lima and Philippine Shippers Bureau executive director Atty. Pedro Vicente Mendoza.
Aside from a series of talks by industry experts, a conference highlight is the launch of the Ateneo-FEDFAP Institute for Transportation and Logistics Management on December 4.

The association is also hosting a golf tournament on December 5 at the Alabang Country Club. Tournament winners will be awarded on the evening of the same day at the Palms Country Club.
