Taiwan’s Evergreen Line and Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) will launch a joint Asia-U.S. East Coast service in early June.
In a press release, Evergreen Line, operator of the world’s fourth largest container fleet, said the new all-water service will link major Asian ports to key destinations on the U.S. East Coast via the Suez Canal.
The Asia-U.S. East Coast Service 3 (AUE3) will add more direct calls to Evergreen’s service network in this trade, including Cai Mep, Singapore, and Jacksonville in Florida.
Ten ships with individual capacities ranging from 4,500 to 5,600 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) will be deployed in the joint service. MOL will provide nine vessels and Evergreen Line, one.
First sailing is scheduled for June 3, with a 70-day voyage that will have a port rotation as follows: Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Suez Canal, Algeciras, Norfolk, Savannah, Jacksonville, Charleston, Algeciras, Suez Canal, Singapore, Cai Mep, and back to Hong Kong.
