DHL Global Forwarding has launched a suite of three road freight services connecting Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand to provide customers a complete range of flexible overland freighting options.
The company has consolidated its services in Southeast Asia with the introduction of DHL AsiaConnect, DHL AsiaLine, and DHL AsiaNet to address the less-than-truckload (LTL), full-truckload (FTL), and bespoke markets in the region.
AsiaConnect is the company’s LTL overnight delivery service from Singapore to Penang, and two-day door-to-door service from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok.
AsiaLine service for domestic or cross-border needs provides transport solution for full loads in all countries.
AsiaNet offers customized road transport network services which meet specific customer and industry requirements, both domestically and internationally.
“DHL Global Forwarding has been offering customers road freight services in Asia for years as it has many advantages—it is faster than sea, cheaper than air and can offer customers more pick-up flexibility and shorter lead times,” said Amadou Diallo, DHL Global Forwarding’s CEO for Africa and South Asia Pacific.
The suite of freight services is ideal for SMEs whose volumes vary and are not always very large, and for companies seeking better inventory management, said Diallo. “With this suite of services, DHL is providing the fastest, most flexible and secure road option whether customers require a tailor-made road freight solution or simply want to send small shipments securely at an all-in rate price system.”
DHL also plans to extend AsiaConnect to Vietnam, Cambodia, and China to complement its road freight business in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Diallo said.
