Stanley Hui Hon-chung will stay on as CEO of Airport Authority Hong Kong for two more years from February 1, 2013, an AAHK media release announced.

Hui was appointed CEO of AAHK in February 2007, then reappointed for three more years from February 2010.

Both 2010 and 2013 extensions were unanimously endorsed by the board and approved by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the AAHK said.

“Under Stanley’s leadership, AAHK has continuously strengthened Hong Kong International Airport’s position as a leading international and regional aviation centre,” said Dr. Marvin Cheung Kin-tung, AAHK chairman, of Hui’s reappointment.

Noting that this is a critical stage for the airport as it is set for development into a three-runway system, Cheung said Hui’s more than 30 years of aviation experience and deep industry knowledge were “important assets” that would “contribute significantly to the long-term betterment of Hong Kong and its aviation industry.”

Hui, 61, began his aviation career in 1975 when he joined Cathay Pacific Airways, where he held a range of management positions. In 1992, he became the chief representative of John Swire & Sons (China) in Beijing. From 1994 to 1997, Hui was the COO of AHK Air Hong Kong. He left Cathay Pacific in 1997 to join Dragonair as CEO, a post he held for over nine years until August 2006.
