Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) of Singapore has promoted Jason Wong to the post of regional president for South Asia.

Wong, 56, will assume his position on July 1, the company said in a notice of appointment filed with the Singapore Exchange.

Wong takes over Goh Teik Poh, who was appointed in 2009, in overseeing NOL’s container shipping business in South Asia. He will lead APL’s business and operations across ASEAN countries, Australasia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the Middle East.

Previously, Wong was NOL vice president for intra-Asia (Middle East and Australia), a post he held from 2007. His other positions within the group were vice president for inter-regional services (long haul) from 2006 to 2007 and vice president for intra-Asia regional services (short sea) from 2002 to 2006.
