Philippine low-cost airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) along with All Nippon Airways Co. and Air Niugini are seeking to increase their fuel surcharges due to the soaring fuel cost.
CEB petitioned Civil Aeronautics Board for a hike in surcharges in three routes: Manila-Osaka, Manila-Denpasar, Indonesia and Cebu-Pusan, South Korea.
For the Manila-Osaka, route, CEB is looking at a $10 increase to $55 per passenger.
For Manila to Denpasar, a $65 per passenger fuel surcharge is sought and for its Cebu to Pusan flights, a $20 increase to $45 per passenger.
All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd is applying for a 23% increase in fuel surcharge for its Manila-Japan flights from the current $82 to $101 per passenger.
Air Niugini is asking CAB for a $15 per head increase to $130 for its flights from Manila to Port Moresby.
