Domestic express logistics service provider AP Cargo Logistics Network Corporation is implementing a cloud-based logistics platform that integrates operations at its more than 80 branches.
The platform, provided by Indian-based software product and service provider Ramco Systems Limited, includes modules for transport management system, fleet maintenance system, supply chain management, finance management, and human capital management.
AP Cargo last year said it was spending several million dollars to replace its antiquated system with Ramco’s integrated logistics system, bundled with a next-generation finance and human resources system.
The logistics platform—an integrated cloud-based platform for third-party logistics companies, freight forwarders, and parcel/courier service providers—can link all stages of a logistics chain and bring all functionalities under a single technology platform.
“Given that Philippines’ logistics sector is on a growth trajectory, there was an urgent need for us to adopt IT solutions to accelerate operational competence and infrastructure,” AP Cargo president and CEO Dr. Virgilio Villacorte said in a statement. “Ramco has future-proofed our tech backbone and has also gone the extra mile by rigorously testing the application, to ensure seamless adoption, no matter what the circumstances.”
Ramco’s command center feature now offers AP Cargo’s senior management true end-to-end connectivity, visibility and control of the entire operations globally, thus simplifying operations. The solution’s enhanced mobility features and Ramco’s Unify Mobile App offer AP Cargo and its customers detailed, real-time and 24/7 asset tracking, stock status and visibility, eliminating potential revenue leakage.
AP Cargo deputy CEO and project manager Randi Ovidio Lorica said, “Apart from providing us with a one-stop logistics solution, Ramco logistics software has effectively blended with our in-house systems for hub operations. It has transformed AP Cargo into a technology-enabled organization,” Lorica added.
Ramco Systems CEO Virender Aggarwal said, “Having built a specialized solution to address the LSP [logistics service provider] segment, we are happy to see good uptake of our comprehensive suite which is driving digitization and business transformation of our clients. The smooth project go-live at AP Cargo is yet another feather in our logistics cap which reinforces the sturdiness of the solution, the detailed project planning and impeccable partnership between both the teams.”
Ramco group chairman P.R. Venketrama Raja noted that since entering the Philippine market in 2016, the company has seen astounding growth with many new project wins.
“Our logistics ERP suite has helped many leading logistics companies in the Philippines by providing them with a competitive advantage in the now continuously growing and competitive logistics sector. Our partnership and go-live with AP cargo has marked another milestone for us as we strive to strategically position ourselves as one of the leading ERP players in the country,” Raja said.
