The Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) said its member-carriers will adjust their bunker charges for cargoes on the Far East-Australia trade lane effective late March.

From March 23, AADA members will start imposing bunker charges of US$600 per 20-foot-equivalent unit and $1,200 per 40-foot-equivalent unit for dry and refrigerated containers from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to ports in Australia.

AADA is a voluntary discussion forum of 13 ocean carriers serving the trade from north and east Asia to destinations in Australia. Members include ANL Singapore, China Shipping Container Lines, Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Maersk Line, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Mitsui O.S.K.
