The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Legazpi will occupy in early 2020 its new office building located on Quezon Avenue Extension, Pier Site, Legazpi City, Albay.

The new customshouse, which is adjacent to the old building, is 95% complete, according to BOC Port of Legazpi acting district collector Alexander M. Go.

The building will be turned over and ready for use once the three-phase transformer is installed and all the essential permits are accomplished, BOC said.

The new office, which can accommodate 50 employees, has a floor area of 700 square meters with nine office rooms, a multipurpose hall, a pantry room, a lobby, a conference room, and a quarters area. BOC said the rooms are provided with enough storage space, have proper ventilation and come complete with smoke detectors and fire sprinklers.

The new building is in line with BOC’s 10-point priority program, one of which is to enhance BOC facilities. The customs bureau said the building was also built and designed to create a conducive work environment for customs personnel and cater to the requirements of the growing number of stakeholders.
