The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Manila international port operators have announced their operational procedures for the Holy Week.
In a memorandum dated March 9, BOC said a skeletal workforce will be serving during the Holy Week break of March 24 to March 26.
Manila South Harbor operator Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), in a marketing circular, said its international container and general cargo terminals will suspend port operations for vessels from 7 a.m. of March 25 (Good Friday) to 7 a.m. of March 26 (Black Saturday).
To facilitate continuous export cargo receival for laden and empty containers at the South Harbor, ATI will also be suspending implementation of the loading closing time from 7 a.m. of March 26 to 7 a.m. of March 27 (Easter Sunday).
ATI noted that any vessels arriving at the international terminals during the work stoppage will be accommodated at the berths. Pilotage and lineman services are also available for arriving and departing vessels.
Meanwhile, Manila International Container Terminal said that on March 24, vessel, yard, and gates operations will run for 24 hours, while billing hours are from 8 a.m. to 5p.m.
There will also be free delivery on this date, except for the designated examination area or DEA and x-ray which will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. only.
The port will be closed on March 25 from 7 a.m. (truck in-gate will be closed starting 4 a.m.).
Vessel, yard and gate operations will resume at 7 a.m. on March 26, while billing hours will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vessel, yard, and gates operations will resume 24-hour operations on March 27 and billing hours will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
