THIRTEEN new faces from various government agencies will be added to the roster of new officials at the Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) as part of ongoing reform of the bureau.

Of the 13, one came from the National Economic and Development Authority Region 3, two from the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Import Services, two from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Cavite and two from PEZA Baguio; two from the Department of Budget and Management, two from the Land Bank of the Philippines and another two from the Development Bank of the Philippines.

Customs Personnel Order B 245-2013, dated Nov. 25, detailed the following to several BOC offices: Greg L. Pineda, collector 5, Clark International Airport; Cristina Macasaquit, Import Assessment Service (IAS) of the Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group (AOCG); Carmelo Nicolas, IAS-AOCG; Joseph S. Peralta, Subport of EPZA-Rosario, Port of Manila; Christler R. Trance, Subport of EPZA-Rosario, Port of Manila; Sally P. Carpio, Subport of EPZA-Baguio, Port of San Fernando; Earl Marie Baysa, Subport of EPZA-Baguio, Port of San Fernando; Dir. Dimpna Rejos, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Internal Administration Group; Dir. Belma Martinez, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for IAG; Atty. Kriden Balgomera, Collector 5, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Customs House; Joey Rodriguez, Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Revenue Collection and Monitoring Group (RCMG); Mamerto Espartero, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, AOCG; and Alberto Santiago A. Bermejo, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, RCMG.

Meanwhile, CPO 246-2013, also dated Nov. 25, designated Edgar Z. Macabeo, chief of Customs Operations Officers, as Acting District Collector of NAIA.

Earlier Pesident Benigno Aquino appointed Ariel Nepomuceno, former Civil Defense executive director, as Deputy Commissioner for Enforcement, a post previously held by retired Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim.

A number of  BOC officials have also been ordered to transfer to the Customs Policy and Research Office under the Department of Finance.
