Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. (CLC) assures that it is business as usual at SuperCat Fast Ferry Corporation as CLC takes over the domestic fastcraft company it recently acquired from 2GO Group, Inc.

CLC in a media statement said the takeover of SuperCat’s management took effect on October 9, the same day the former acquired 100% of the latter from 2GO Group. CLC in 2017 acquired 28.15% indirect economic interest in 2GO Group.

“Taking the helm of SuperCat Fast Ferry is both exciting and rewarding as it will strengthen Chelsea’s shipping portfolio in furtherance of its business direction,” CLC president and chief executive officer Chryss Alfonsus V. Damuy said in the statement.

“With this new addition to our growing fleet, we can operate in more strategic areas, open new routes, and serve more passengers. At the end of the day, what matters is not the size of our business, but the efficiency and connectivity we create to improve the quality of life of the Filipino people.”

“Rest assured, there will be smooth owner transition and operations will be business as usual,” Damuy added.

SuperCat, which currently has 11 fastcraft plying the routes of Cebu-Ormoc, Cebu-Tagbilaran, Batangas-Calapan, and Bacolod-Iloilo, is now one of CLC’s wholly owned subsidiaries.

Aside from 2GO and SuperCat, CLC also acquired WorkLink Services, Inc. and Starlite Ferries, Inc. in 2017. It also has two wholly owned subsidiaries, Chelsea Shipping Corp. and Trans-Asia Shipping Lines.
