Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp. (CLC) said it acquired 100% of The SuperCat Fast Ferry Corporation from 2GO Group Inc. last October 9.

CLC, in a regulatory disclosure, said the cost of acquisition is less than 10% of its total shareholders’ equity. CLC said that as of the closing of the sale, The SuperCat is no longer a subsidiary of 2GO, in which CLC acquired 28.15% indirect economic interest in 2017.

SuperCat operates twin-hulled fast ferry catamarans cruising at an average speed of 24 knots. Its destinations include Batangas, Bacolod, Calapan, Cebu, Iloilo, Ormoc, and Tagbilaran.

Aside from 2GO and The SuperCat, CLC in 2017 also acquired WorkLink Services, Inc. and Starlite Ferries, Inc.

CLC also has two wholly owned subsidiaries, Chelsea Shipping Corp. and Trans-Asia Shipping Lines.

The group is actively scaling up its logistics business. Last year, CLC broke ground for its 2.5-hectare property along C-5 for a warehouse complex development that is expected to be operational by 2020. It is also opening additional branches of its warehousing unit, Worklink Services, in the Visayas and Mindanao to further broaden its network.

The company is also beefing up its fleet by acquiring new vessels, particularly for Trans-Asia and Starlite.
