The CKYH alliance announced it will axe a suspended service as well as put on hold an existing loop as part of its plan to reorganize this year its network services for the sluggish Asia-North Europe and Asia-Mediterranean trades.
CKYH, comprised of Asian carriers Cosco, “K” Line, Yang Ming, and Hanjin Shipping, said that starting April it will not resume the NE4 service suspended back in October 2012 and will suspend its existing NE1 service.
The consortium in a statement added it will provide four loops—NE2, NE3, NE6 and NE7—for the Asia-North Europe trade, and three loops—MD1, MD2, and MD3—for the Asia-Mediterranean network from early April.
The new services will take over calling at the ports that were covered by the NE1 and NE4 loops.
The alliance said that with the reshuffle, it would “continue to maintain the highest on-time schedule reliability in the industry, providing quality service to customers.”
The revised Asia-North Europe service routes will be as follows:
NE2: Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Xiamen
NE3: Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Singapore, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Hong Kong, and Xingang
NE6: Xingang, Kwangyang, Pusan, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Singapore, Algeciras, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Algeciras, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, and Xingang
NE7: Ningbo, Shanghai, Nansha, Hong Kong, Singapore, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Singapore, Nansha, Yantian, Kaohsiung, and Ningbo
The reorganized Asia-Mediterranean loos will be as follows:
MD1: Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Hong Kong, Nansha, Singapore, Piraeus, La Spezia, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Piraeus, Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Qingdao
MD2: Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Genoa, Barcelona, Fos, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ningbo
MD3: Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Napoli, Livorno, La Spezia, Port Said, Singapore, Hochiminh, Hong Kong, Yantian, and Ningbo
