Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) announced it will add a new service to the Asia-Black Sea trade effective February 2012.
The Chilean shipping company plans to include a direct call to the port of Busan while continuing to serve the main ports in China on the Asian end, and Beirut, Piraeus and Istanbul on the East Mediterranean-Black Sea range.
A dedicated feeder network will connect to ports in the East Mediterranean, South of Turkey and main destinations in the Black Sea (Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Georgia).
The new port rotation is Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Jeddah, Beirut, Piraeus, Istanbul, Piraeus, Jeddah, Salalah, Singapore, Qingdao.
“This new service structure will significantly improve our system efficiency levels and develop a broad coverage with high degree of reliability, thus attending the growing needs of this trade line,” a company statement on December 21, 2011 said.
CSAV added that it is also considering a direct service between China and the Black Sea with direct calls at Ukraine and Romania when the slow season has passed.
