Chilean shipping company CSAV announced the revamp of its Andex Sling 1 and Andex Sling 2 services effective third week of October 2011.

The revised 77-day Andex Sling 1 route from Asia to Mexico and the West Coast South America (Chile and Peru) will operate 11 ships with capacities of 8,500 20-foot equivalent units each.

The service adds a new direct call to Yokohama on the eastbound leg as well as direct calls to Balboa on both eastbound and westbound legs.

The first eastbound sailing is on October 18 and follows this port rotation: Chiwan, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Yokohama, Manzanillo, Balboa, Callao, Iquique, San Antonio, San Vicente. Westbound port rotation is San Vicente, San Antonio, Callao, Balboa, Manzanillo, Shanghai, Keelung, Chiwan.

The Andex Sling 2, to run a round voyage of 70 days from Asia to Mexico and Central America, will include a direct call to Balboa on the eastbound leg.

This sling will utilize 10 ships of 6,500-TEU capacities each. The first eastbound sailing is expected to arrive at Xingang on October 21.

The eastbound port rotation is Xingang, Qingdao, Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Pusan, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa, Buenaventura. Westbound route is Buenaventura, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Yokohama, Xingang.

The company said it is using Lazaro Cardenas as a new transshipment port for Puerto Quetzal, Acajutla, Corinto, Puerto Caldera.
