Six regional airport projects with an estimated total cost of P134 million are to be opened for bidding August 16, 2017 by the Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Up for development are ports in Antique, Dipolog, Ipil, Laoag, Maasin, and Siquijor.

Some P9.683 million is set aside for Antique Airport’s development involving a runway extension and a shoulder grade correction, while P14.548 million has been approved for the construction of a passenger terminal building at Ipil Airport.

Meanwhile, P23.455 million is allotted for the Dipolog Airport’s upgrade that entails asphalt overlay on its runway, shoulder grade correction, and access road construction.

About P13.080 million will be allocated for shoulder grade correction and rehabilitation of a depressed portion at the Laoag International Airport runway.

Meantime, an excavation and embankment project worth P33.940 million is scheduled for Maasin airport.

The biggest budget amounting to P39.333 million will cover the construction of a new passenger terminal building, a power house, and a vehicular parking area at Siquijor Airport.

In an invitation to bidders, DOTr said interested parties should have completed a contract similar to the project.

Open competitive bidding procedures will be conducted in accordance with the Government Procurement Reform Act. Bidding is restricted to Filipino contractors or to organizations with at least 75% interest or outstanding capital stock belonging to Filipino citizens.
