Evergreen Line of Taiwan announced a new feeder service into Myanmar, to be launched in late August.

The new Straits-Yangon service (SYS) will connect Yangon to Singapore and Port Klang.

The carrier’s Ever Able, a 1,164-TEU vessel, will be deployed on the route.

First sailing is from Singapore on August 21, with an 11- to 12-day port rotation covering Singapore, Yangon, Port Klang, and Singapore.

Evergreen will also conduct a slot exchange with Advance Container Lines on the latter’s Yangon routes (YGS). The port rotations are:

• YGS1: Singapore, Yangon, Port Klang, Singapore
• YGS2: Singapore, Yangon, Singapore

Evergreen explained its move as a response to growing business interest in the Myanmar market following recent political and economic reforms in the country.
