Anticipating a growing intra-Asia seaborne trade, Evergreen Line will realign its fleet deployment and launch new weekly services effective mid-October 2011.

Its existing Hua Bei-Hong Kong-Indonesia service (HBI) will be divided into two feeder loops—the Hua Bei-Hong Kong service (HBH) and the Tanjung Pelepas-Indonesia service (PIS). The realignment is intended to “fully cover the scope of the HBI string and better meet the demands of those changing markets,” Evergreen Line said.

The Taiwan-based carrier will also offer a new weekly service by adding one vessel to the three ships providing Cheng Lie’s China-Philippines-Indonesia service (CN1). The deployment adds another sailing for the Qingdao-Hong Kong connection and extends the service link to central China and the Philippines.

With the reshuffle, the fleets and rotations of Evergreen’s Asia services are as follows:

HBH: Two 2,868-TEU vessels will rotate through the ports of Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Hong Kong, then back to Xingang.

PIS: One 1,164-TEU ship rotates among Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Semarang, then return to Tanjung Pelepas.

CN1: A 2,846-TEU Evergreen ship will join the service, with a port rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Manila (North and South Harbor), Jakarta, Surabaya, Manila (South), Hong Kong, Qingdao.
