FedEx Express (FedEx) has launched two additional Boeing 777F routes in Asia-Pacific, connecting Shanghai and Guangzhou in China to the company’s hub in Cologne, Germany.

This is the first time that FedEx has launched a 777F direct flight from its Asia-Pacific hub in Guangzhou to Europe, the Memphis, Tennessee-based express transportation giant said.

Both 777F routes have five weekly flights from Tuesday through Saturday. With their launch, FedEx now operates seven 777F routes connecting Asia-Pacific to the U.S and Europe.

“The deployment of more non-stop 777F services from Asia Pacific to Europe marks continuous efforts by FedEx to strengthen our network and meet increasing customer demand between these two important trade lanes,” said David Cunningham, president for Asia Pacific of FedEx Express.

The company said it is the first U.S.-based, global, all-cargo freight airline to add the 777F, the world’s largest twin-engine cargo aircraft, to its fleet. The fuel-efficient 777Fs have lower carbon emissions, demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, it said.
