GAC has appointed two marketing managers to its shipping marketing team in Europe as part of efforts to strengthen its market presence in the region.

Niko Steindamm has been hired as marketing manager of shipping and will be based in Bremen, Germany. He will promote GAC’s global shipping and related services in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

Before joining GAC, Steindamm worked in sales and operations for a large container line in Germany, and for a ro-ro owner/operator specializing in project movements throughout the Baltic region.

Capt. Tom Bjorklund has signed up as marketing manager of shipping for Scandinavia, Iceland, Belarus, and the Baltic.

Bjorklund will be based in Stockholm, Sweden, replacing Peter Osterman, the marketing manager previously based in the city. Osterman takes over Bjorklund’s previous post as director of the Global Hub Services in Dubai.

Steindamm and Bjorklund complete the marketing team in Europe that includes Neil Godfrey and Sami Younis in the UK, Nikos Marmatsouris and Maria Angelidou in Greece, and Simon Heywood in Portugal.

Established in 1956, the GAC is a global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services. It is headquartered in Dubai and employs more than 9,000 people in more than 300 offices worldwide.
