Hanjin Shipping will renew its Far East-Middle East (FMX) service starting from early July with a new partner, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line).

The Japan-based NYK Line replaces STX and Sinokor, Hanjin’s previous partners on the FMX trade.

Hanjin’s fleet of six 4,500 to 5,300 20-foot equivalent units will be superseded by six 6,200 to 6,500 TEU ships, five of which will be deployed by Hanjin and one by NYK.

Sailing starts on July 7. The port rotation will be Busan, Kwangyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Busan.

“The trade from the Far East to the Middle East has great potential and we will continue to invest to strengthen our presence in the market,” said Hanjin.
