German container liner Hapag-Lloyd announced some changes to its services between Asia and the West Coast of Latin America effective March 25, 2017 following the termination of its Asia-Mexico Express 2 Service (AME2).

The AME2 will be discontinued from week 13, with the last sailing to be provided by the APL Latvia in Kaohsiung on March 20.

This will generate changes in both eastbound (Asia to Latin America West Coast) and westbound (Latin America West Coast to Asia) network operations, said the company.

For the eastbound service, there will be no changes in the AN1 (Andex 1) and AME1 (Asia-Mexico Express 1). But in the AN2 (Andex 2) service, a Kaohsiung eastbound call will be added, to start April 5.

Additionally, the carrier will be adding two new eastbound products to its portfolio.

The AC2 is scheduled to start in Qingdao March 25 with the following port rotation: Qingdao, Shanghai, Pusan, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa, and Buenaventura.

The AC3 service is scheduled to start in Kaoshiung on March 29. It will have a port rotation of Kaohsiung, Nansha, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Ningbo, Kwangyang, Yokohama, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa, Buenaventura, Callao, San Antonio, and San Vicente.

As for the westbound service, the AN1 (Andex 1) and AN2 (Andex 2) will remain unchanged. For AME1 (Asia-Mexico Express 1), a Buenaventura and a Lazaro Cardenas westbound call will be added, the final dates to be confirmed later.

In addition there will be two new westbound products.

The AC1 will be making calls at the ports of Valparaiso, San Vicente, Callao, Buenaventura, Balboa, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Yokohama, Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Chiwan, and Hong Kong. The service is scheduled to start in Valparaiso May 13.

The AC2, scheduled to start in Balboa April 21, will have a port rotation of Balboa, Buenaventura, Lazaro Cardenas, Qingdao, Shanghai, and Pusan.
