IJS Global, the worldwide, world-class logistics service provider, has announced the appointment of Sven Boekhorst as its Head of Global Ocean Freight and Executive Vice President.  He reports directly to CEO, Sjoerd van Loon.  In this newly established role Boekhorst will be responsible for ocean freight procurement and operations as well as the further development of the company’s sea freight services internationally.  He comes to IJS Global from Panalpina where he served as SVP Corporate Ocean Freight.

Based in Hong Kong, Boekhorst has wide experience of Ocean Freight procurement as well as marketing and sales activities across the Asia Pacific region and will spearhead the growth of a full range of ocean freight services at IJS Global locations worldwide.  “The top five trade lanes in the world are into or out of Asia and equate to some 70% of global trade volumes so I am located in the ideal place to drive forward our plans for ocean freight.  It is an exciting challenge and this is a young company with a dynamic spirit and I am looking forward to positively influencing the future journey we take”.

Adds Sjoerd van Loon: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Sven’s calibre to our team. With a leader for our ocean product who has his knowledge and experience I am confident the future strategic development of this key area of IJS Global’s service portfolio is in good hands”.
