Indonesia’s state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I has set a target of serving at least 101 million passengers in the 13 airports it manages, an increase from 96.5 million passengers processed in 2018, reported Antara News.

“The performance of the company has been growing positively over several years. There is a trend of increases in the number of passengers, income, and profit of the company,” PT AP I’s president director Faik Fahmi said.

In 2017, the 13 airports received 89.7 million passengers, and in 2018, the number of passengers went up 7.6% to 96.5 million.

PT AP I received audited income amounting to IDR8.98 trillion (US$640.40 million) last year, while net profit was IDR2 trillion, an increase of 41.28% compared to 2017.

For this year, the company has set a target income of IDR10.2 trillion and net profit of over IDR2 trillion.

PT Angkasa Pura I is one of the two separate state enterprises of the Indonesian Department of Transport that are responsible for the management of airports in Indonesia, the other one being PT Angkasa Pura II.

PT AP I also plays a role in promoting air connectivity and economic growth through airport development and expansion, Faik said.

For 2019, the company has adopted the theme “Connecting the World Beyond Airport Operator with Indonesian Experience” for its new vision.
