As severe flooding paralyzes Bangkok and surrounding areas, Kerry Logistics announced the relocation of its Express command center from the capital city to the east of Thailand, within 20 kilometers of the Laem Cha Bang deep-sea port. The command center is also connected to Suvarnabhumi airport and is one hour of travel time away over elevated highways.

The company said it has also established distribution centers in Siracha, Chonburi, Chacheongsao, and Rayong on the eastern seaboard and in Korat Province in northeast Thailand, which are all unaffected by widespread flooding, to assist in the speedy distribution of cargo.

“We have acted promptly to maintain supply chain integrity and maintain distribution flow for our customers and their suppliers. We are focused on prioritising food & beverages, pharmaceuticals & medical, and life-saving equipment,” said Alex Ng, general manager, Kerry Logistics (Thailand) in a statement.

“However because of the flooding it is inevitable that delivery lead times will be longer than usual but we are fully operational for the duration of the flooding crisis,” he added.

Other business units including freight forwarding, Kerry Siam Seaport, and the Kerry Asia Road Transport are providing support in managing the flow of urgent shipments into and out of the affected areas of Thailand.
