Freight and logistics solutions firm 1-Stop Connections Pty Ltd has created a technology that coordinates container movements across the supply chain, effectively cutting down on data entry work for industry players.

The Australia-based company said the new 1-Stop Modal (Modal) is a complete, tailor-made electronic gate and inventory management solution that harmonizes the operations of container parks and yards, depots, intermodals, shipping lines, terminals, carriers, and rail operators.

Created in collaboration with the logistics community, Modal is designed to make life simpler by tapping into a more simplified “eco-system” for any containerized facility. The solution reduces data entry by linking and sharing information, removing one of the biggest issues facing the industry today.

“1-Stop Modal’s simple, single-window user-interface modernizes container logistics with the latest technology that will benefit all participants in the supply chain,” 1-Stop said.

The launch of Modal signals an exciting phase for the sector, one of several new solutions to be rolled out over the next 18 months that will connect and coordinate logistics chain segments to make life simpler for the industry.

One facility is already using 1-Stop Modal, with more customers expected to adopt the new product by the end of 2017, the company said.

“In these challenging times, where being competitive as a business relies on being efficient and maximizing your asset utilization, 1-Stop has embraced this productivity mindset to partner with stakeholders in the industry to turn challenges into opportunities,” 1-Stop chief executive officer Michael Bouari said.

He added that to create Modal, 1-Stop worked alongside operators of container parks, shipping lines and carriers in order to bring to the market the only system that is built entirely from industry input and allows users to manage their entire workload from one interconnected solution.

In the Philippines, 1-Stop provides a vehicle booking system locally known as Terminal Appointment Booking System or TABS and used by Manila international terminals. Bouari earlier said the company is looking to expand operations in the country by offering its products to other ports.
