Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced the opening of the new route “SYX” linking Singapore and Yangon, a twice-a-week joint service with Thailand’s Regional Container Lines (RCL).

The service starts on March 17 and will run three vessels—two from RCL and one from MOL.

The SYX service will draw on MOL’s own network to offer a wide variety of both inbound and outbound services to meet rising demand in Yangon, a major market in Myanmar, an MOL company statement said.

Port rotation is Singapore, Yangon, and back to Singapore, with the first sailing on March 17 by MV Ora Bhum calling at Singapore.
