MSC is teaming up with CMA CGM and CSAV in a revised Asia-Latin America service effective this month.
The service linking Asia to Mexico, Central America, and West Coast of South America will continue to operate on two distinct loops as MSC joins the trade.
The ACSA (Asia Central South America) loop operated by CMA CGM will deploy 11 vessels of 8,500-TEU capacities each. CMA CGM will operate one, CSAV two, and MSC eight ships.
The Andex loop by CSAV will deploy 10 ships of 6,500-TEU capacities, broken down into three from CMA CGM and seven for CSAV.
“With this new configuration, CMA CGM, MSC and CSAV will be able to better adjust their tonnage to the low season of the trade while operating a high-performance fleet ensuring economies of scale,” CMA CGM said in a press release.
Earlier, CSAV had disclosed the upcoming changes in the port rotations, but it is now announced that MSC will also enter the service.
Under the new rotation, sling 1 will call at Chiwan, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Yokohama, Manzanillo, Balboa, Callao, Iquique, San Antonio, San Vicente, San Antonio, Callao Balboa, Manzanillo, Shanghai, Keelung, Chiwan.
Sling 2 will rotate among Xingang, Qingdao, Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Pusan, Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas, Balboa, Buenaventura, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo, Yokohama, Xingang.
The first sailing for the first sling under the new configuration is by CMA CGM NABUCCO, which leaves Chiwan on October 18. Initial sailing for the second sling by CSAV PUELO is from Xingang on October 21.
