Japan-based Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) is ceasing its Thailand–Vietnam–Singapore (TVS) joint service and launching the Thailand–Vietnam–Canton (TVC) joint service from mid-May.

NYK said on May 8 that it will dissolve its TVS service jointly managed with Vietnam’s Vinalines Container Shipping Company to introduce the TVC service, a joint venture with Thailand’s Regional Container Lines (RCL).

The TVC service will be using three vessels, each with a capacity of 1,000 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units). NYK will deploy one ship, and RCL will provide two vessels.

Ports of call for the 21-day rotation will be Bangkok (Sun/Mon), Laem Chabang (Mon/Tue), Haiphong (Sat/Sun), Shekou (Tue/Tue), Hong Kong (Tue/Thu), Haiphong (Fri/Sat), Hong Kong (Mon/Tue), Shekou (Tue/Wed), and Bangkok.

The first sailing will call Bangkok on May 13.

NYK said the new service will “not only improve the transit time from Thailand to North Vietnam to four days, the fastest in the market, but also strengthen the service network from South PRC to Vietnam and Thailand.”
