PAL’s BOD also accepted Bautista’s retirement, effective June 30, 2019, said parent company PAL Holdings, Inc. in a regulatory disclosure.
Tan will be performing the duties and functions of PAL’s president and chief operating officer, including those of the Accountable Manager of the Corporation, PAL Aviation School, and PAL Aviation Training Center.
Tan, daughter of PAL chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Lucio Tan, is also concurrent executive vice president, treasurer, and chief administrative officer of the company.
PAL earlier assured its customers, business partners and employees that it’s “business as usual” for the flag carrier. All flights and services are proceeding as scheduled, the company stressed.
The airline noted that its new OIC has more than 25 years of professional experience in technology, education, entrepreneurship, and social advocacy in industries such as education, airline management, and property development. Aside from PAL, Tan also sits as board member of Tan holding firm LT Group, Inc., Philippine National Bank, Eton Properties, Dynamic Holdings, University of the East, and University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.
PAL said Tan is no stranger to the inner workings of the airline, having worked for it in various capacities from 2011 before moving on to other positions in the LT Group, mainly in the real estate, banking and education sectors.
