PHILIPPINE customs collections for the month of October increased 5.35% to P28.37 billion, but were still below the agency’s target for the 10th month in a row, data from the Bureau of Customs showed.
The October collections were higher than the P26.93 billion in the same period last year, but were P2.12 billion short of P30.5 billion targeted for the month, according to data from the Statistical Analysis Division.
The bureau’s revenue collections from January to October reached P252.84 billion.
Earlier, Customs Commissioner Rozzano Rufino Biazon said the bureau is “poised to hit our internal revenue collection milestone of P300 billion in October”.
The Inter-agency Development Budget Coordination Committee has set a target collection for the BOC of P30.508 billion for October and P340 billion for the full year of 2013.
